The remote release door does not operate. I heard a "ping" last time I filled up and found a peice of the spring on the floor. I closed the fuel filler door and now I cannot open it to re-fuel. Help, I'm almost out of gas.

The spring inside your fuel door broke. Common problem for old Toyotas. To release your fuel door, lift the gas lever inside and cushion under the handle with something to keep the lever up and then go the fuel door and insert a credit card on the crack of the fuel door and open it manually. You need to replace this one (gas filler door spring). The V metal part snap out of the plastic. Easy to replace.
