1999 Toyota Camry carbon canister

Engine Performance problem
1999 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

How do i replace the carbon canister the one back by the gas tank on a 99 camry. Do I need to remove the muffler. how many bolts hold it in place

The carbon canister is actually under the hood of the vehicle. Here is a picture of the HVAC system for a 99 Camery.

Iam referring to the Vapor seperator. The shop caled it a charcoal canister. Said they smoke tested it and it was bad causing code P0446. said it would cost $680 to replace. Will I need to remove the muffler to get this bad boy out

thank I may be able to save some money if I can do myself

You will need to remove the fuel tank but you should be able to work it around the exhaust system.
