1998 Toyota Camry SPARK PLUGS
Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 125000 miles
How do i replace the spark plugs. where are they? do i need special tools. or should i just go to a mechanic?

Hi there,
The plugs are in the cylinder head on top you will see the 4 plug leads, you will be able to pull the lead by the rubber boot the plugs are deep set and you will need a spark plug socket & extension bar to reach them, also you may have leaking plug tubes, this is common on these engines, if so there you will have to take it to a mechanic as the rocker cover will have to be removed and the tubes re tightened or replaced if cracked. It will take a mechanic about 10 MIN to replace 4 spark plugs, maybe just get them to do it if you don;t have the tools.
