I always change my oil every three thousand miles. This time there was only one quart of oil left.
The mechanic replaced the oil, and added a dye to try to determon where the oil is leaking as there are no obvious indications. No smoke from the exhaust ect. He did notice oil on the oil pan. Any ideas thanks

Hi there,

The oil must be leaking externally or going out the exhaust. If there is signs of oil leaking on the sump, have the engine thoroughly cleaned down and drive for a day or two, Any fresh leaks will be visible and you will be able to track them to the point of origin.
