1998 Toyota Camry 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 165k miles

I am having several problems with my camry. First off, when I got it the check engine light was on. The dealer got it to turn off, but came back on a few hours later. I have gotten codes on that but I have lost them, going to get them again. I also seem to have an exhaust leak that I have no idea how to fix. I want to fix it myself but I just need to know how. I am also having problems with exceleration. When I get going past 60 mph, my car doesnt seem to want to go into gear. I am tired of the problem but have no idea what it is or how to begin fixing it. Also, im not getting good gas mileage, my gas pedal sticks, my tires are wearing down towards the inside of the car and my door handle broke off on my driver side door(my friend has the same exact car and his did too). I am in dire need of getting my car in ship shape I just need to know where to start and what to do. I deliver pizza's so its a must to get it working properly! Thanks ahead of time for any info that anyone can give me!

Wow! You got some serious problems.

1. Give it a major tune-up

2. Get the check engine light read out and give us the code/s

3. You need to identify where its leaking on the exhaust system.

4. We'll get to the other problems as soon you take care the above-this is where we start.

As a pizza deliveryman-you do a lot of stop and go movement and its not that good for the engine if its not maintain properly-you're operating this vehicle in a severe manner. Therefore all required maintenance under severe conditions should be performed to get it in tip top shape.
