I have a 1997 toyota camry with 70,000 miles. When using the air-conditioner the air distribution does not blow with any force on the normal setting. The two middle vents have hardly any air flow. Side vents seem to be okay. You can hear that the flow is restricted. On other settings such as defrost or floor it operates quietly and with the proper force. Any ideas?

You have a blend door issue. When you select air for the top vents a door moves and conducts the air from the evaporator housing to the top vents.

Take you glove compartment down and look at the vent arms move the selector and watch the movement. Good luck
