The battery light in the dash panel has recently become erratic, coming on and off intermittantly. As this occurs, I notice that the dash panel lights and the headlights seem to go dimmer and flitter a bit, and then surge back on full power suddenly. I'm guessing it's a problem with the voltage regulator, but am not sure. The car has had NO problem starting or staying running (no stall-outs), the battery is not very old, and hasn't yet overcharged or drained on me (knock on wood). Am I on the right track here, and how would I go about troublshooting the issue, in any case?

Hi there,

I feel the problem will lie with in the alternator & the voltage regulator. Have the alternator o/hauled. Check the battery terminals are clean and tight as well.
