When first start the car and shift it into gear it goes into nuetral. This also sometimes happen when I take my foot off of the gas pedal. The problem usually occurs within the first few minutes that the car is started. It usually shifts back into gear when you take your foot off of the gas pedal. What could this be?

Two things to look at.
Your transmission mount and the shifter cable. At the first cold start, your engine and transmission vibrate quite a bit. If you move the shifter cable while the engine/transmission is vibrating, there is a chance that your shifter cable gets pulled out of gear to neutral. When you remove your foot off the gas pedal, the transmission "moves" to its original position, thus "shifting" the shift cable back to where you had it before.
