Well, I turn my key in the ignition and all I get is a little tick noise at the beginning and a small stream a smoke. My battery is fine. It doesn't even make that sound of an engine trying to start. It sounds just like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkPb-nEw1Ww&feature=channel_page

Still you should have the battery check. That is the first rule. Having the dash lights, radio, headlight working is not the answer. It only takes less than 5 Amps to do all that. But it will take in the neighborhood of 300 Amps to crank the motor. Most auto parts store will test your battery for free.

Check the battery terminals. Are they clean or corroded? Are they tight?
