If your C.V was clicking or knocking changing the boot and grease won't help much, a new C.V. joint will have to be pressed on the shaft, they are held in place with an internal "C" clip and can be extremely difficult to remove, There are special pneumatic spreaders that will stretch the boot over the joint, but i would suggest to have then repaired professionally and then re install them your self. Fully re-co drive shafts are not that expensive, so make a few phone calls and get a price .
