I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SELF CHECK THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES. I HAVE TRIED THE PAPER CLIP TRICK BUT IT DID NOT WORK. MAYBE I DID NOT DO IT RIGHT. IF YOU CAN GIVE ME THE STEPS OR TELL ME WHERE TO BUY A SCAN TOOL FOR THIS.

Hi there,

you need to bridge out TE1 & E1 on the diagnostic link connector, turn on the ignition and the check light will flash if a code is set the count is, first set of flashes is 10's then a pause and the second set is 1's so 3 flashes pause 6 flashes = code 36. If the light flashes constantly the system is clear.
