Interior problem
1993 Toyota Camry

I use my left rear seat belt to secure my son in a child seat. One day while securing him in, we over extended the seat belt and now it won't retract back into the C pillar.

Can we fix it on our own, or do we need to send it in?

Your kind guidance please/

Have you tried giving the belt a couple of good jerks? If this doesn't work, you may have the part of the belt, where it is sewed together, stuck in the retractor. If you remove the plastic trim cover over the retractor you should be able to see it. If this be the case, you should be able to push the belt back in with a screwdriver or even a butter knife.

I tried to figure out how to fix the belt while waiting for a reply, and managed to get my fingers between the seat and frame of the car and located the seatbelt roller. A few slight push to roll the roller and a "click" and it retracted, its working perfectly again.

Thanks!
