Car will only start if you choke air off while running the ecm will not record any trouble shooting codes. Is there anything else that would cause this other than a bad ecm. Is there any way to test the ecm. I am getting spark tested gas pressure it is correct.

Check and test the coolant temperature sensor. You have to jump Te-1 to E-1 to pull code/s from the check connector in the engine compartment-

Thank you very much for your help i"ll let you know how it worked out. Coolant sensor checked out ok. Start from beginning, my problem started when we were washing off engine & car died. Now will only start when we choke off air then when the accelerator is depressed it bogs badly. Took out 2 sensors and no trouble code was alerted by the ecm. Tried another ecm. Same problem. Why can't we get the car to start by simply turning the key & why won't the ecm give a trouble code when it is obviously not running properly. Got spark and the gas pressure was tested it is good.
