Electrical problem
1990 Toyota Camry 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
The signal that lets us know if a door is open on the dashboard is on all the time which is draining my battery. I know there is a "sensor" on driver side on the frame which when you close the door it should prevent the "door open" signal to light up. What is the correct name of this "sensor" by the door frame called so I can order the part???

Door courtesy switch.

All the doors in your car got a "Door courtesy switch." There should be one in the trunk too but I do not know if the trunk switch is connected to the door light in the dashboard. Before you buy, remove one door courtesy switch at a time and check if the door light disappears. In this case you will know which one to replace.
