THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. MY QUESTION IS THIS, I HAVE NOT HAD MY 1990 FOR MORE THAN 2 MONTHS SO I AM GETTING AQUANTED WITH IT. THIS QUESTION CONCERNS THE OVERDRIVE. ON THE SHIFT THERE IS A SMALL RAISED BUTTON AND THAT TURNS ON AND OFF THE OVERDRIVE. OFF/OVERDRIVE SHOWS UP IN THE DASH WINDOW LOWER RIGHT CORNER. I NEED TO KNOW IF I AM TO USE THE OVERDRIVE, EVEN IF I AM NOT PULLING ANYTHING. IF I USE IT, DOES IT BEING ON SHOW IN THE WINDOW AS BLANK OR OFF/OVERDRIVE? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Hi ZBZ5,

Under normal driving circumstances, the OD should be used, that means no light indicating.

With OD OFF, the vehicle would only use up to the third gear, you would have high consumption and a high revving engine.

OD OFF is use only when you want some engine braking and don't want the gears to shift to 4th like when the road is winding or slightly downhill.
