The check engine light has been on for about two months now. Thi s after I have had $3200 worth of work done to the engine this year and $2500 worth of computer work done to it last year. I have had it back to the dealer twice since the light has been on and they have run a computer diagnostic each time but have not been able to find anything wrong. They suggested I run my car with two tanks of Chevron Supreme and add a can of K44 to each tank of gas to see if it is the fuel injectors. I am currently on my second tank of gas. Now, I like my camry. I have taken excellent care of it. I would like to keep it longer. It seems to run just fine and I still get 30 miles to a gallon when I drive it. It is in cherry condition and still comfortable to ride in. Any ideas on what is causisng the "check engine" light to remain on?

It could be a problem in the computer itself. Has the dealer been able to retrieve any codes from the computer with the light on?

Just for the heck of it, take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer to see if they can provide a code for you. Most stores will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket for you. This way, I'll know what we are up against.

Honestly, a dirty fuel injector ( if the engine isn't missing) will not set the check engine light. Therefore, I question their means of repair at this point.

Let me know if the parts store can get any codes from the computer.
