I have just got this car, its a 5sp first day shifted fine, 2nd day started scraping going into gear within 1 hr, I couldnt hardly get into any gear, even double clutching. Scraped trying to shift up or down. Finaly had to cut off to get into 1st. And then holding clutch to floor and the brake it still tried to pull or choke down? And still didnt want to go into 2nd.I stoped and checked fluid, it was out, so I filled it up, but really no improvement. What to do now? I thoght maybe slave or master gone out. What do u think? By the way Ive been driving sticks for 40 yrs. Im a woman and Im not hard on cars at all/

As the clutch wears, the hydraulics need to have that space taken up. Like the brakes. The pads wear and the fluid takes up the wear and goes down. First thing would be to check for any fluid leaks. Then the system must be bled. If it holds fluid, the clutch plate is no good. You'll need a new clutch disk, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. Ok I hope this helps. I really think you'll need a new clutch. Only because it's a time when someone would trade it, or sell it.
