1986 Toyota Camry thermostat fluxuates

I noticed while driving today that when I would slow down, brake, or stop that the thermoste gauge in my car would fluxuate between in the middle where it normally is to all the way down. And up and down like that continuesly. The dial never moves past the middle and otherwise drives fine.

Hi ladygodiva,

Most probably the gauge is faulty or the electrical conections are loose.
Check coolant level in radiator and the sending switch for fault.
