1995 Toyota Avalon 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 300000 miles

I replaced my battery. No more radio. Need codes.
My radio is not original. It is a pioneer I installed.
Can you help?

I didn't see anything about radio codes so I don't thing you touch that topic?

Have your vin # ready and call your local dealer
they will give you the codes
(say your calling from a shop )

(Refer: Posted at Thu Mar 06, 2008 4:46 pm)You suggested I could "be" a body shop and get the codes from a local dealer. I checked with a friend of mine that owns a body shop and he said it was silly to say that the local dealer could give the code for a radio that was not standard equipment.
He said I would have to pull the radio and get the info off the back and then contact the mfg. Of the radio (Pioneer) for the code.
Even then I will have to be given instructions on how to enter the code.

Are you right (doesn't matter whether radio is standard or not)? Or is the other buy right (must get code from the radio mfg.)? :Roll:

If the radio was replaced then your friend is correct as that you have to pull the radio out and then you have to get the serial # of the radio
you still need the vin # and that serial #
call the dealer and they will provide you with the code
we just had the same problem
changed battery and know the customer unhappy because she had no code for the radio
picked the phone and called the dealer with the vin # and vin # only they gave me the code
simple and easy
