toyota 4 runner overheated and now wont start

my 1987 toyota 4-runner was overheating, the radiatior and thermostat were replaced. it overheated again and now it wont start. it tries to turn over but just cant. what could be causing this?

is this a 4 cyl or v6?

you have to check if the water pump is working or not,if is working you have to replace the thermostat,also you have to check if coolant fans are working or not,if not you have to replace the coolant sensor or the fan swith.good luck
