Terrible Machine Gun Like Sound When Accelerating

When accelerating from a stop there is a machine gun like sound that comes from the engine compartment. It sounds like it is coming from the wheels but I am not sure of that. The machine gun like sound will fade away slowly when you take your foot off the accelerator.

Another description of the sound would be the wheel of fortune clicking sound when they spin the wheel, that clicking sound fades away at about the same speed as that wheel of fortune does when slowing down.

The sound occurs during acceleration while turning either left or right and occasionally while going straight.

It has been in the shop when the problem began to appear about 8 months ago. 8 months ago the problem only occurred very occasionally and the GM Repair men could not figure out the problem. I have it scheduled to be looked at tomorrow morning, I was hoping that you might be able to direct me in the right direction to share with them.

Do you still believe it is motor mount?

That seems unlikely, since it has been seen by service, albeit 8 months ago.

Maybe they did not notice motor mount.
