W215. Have a fault code saying bad TCM module but I can't find it. I looked under the rear passenger seat and not there. Next, I looked under the front passenger side carpet and took off metal plate. Also looked under both fuse boxes under the hood. Where is this TCM module located?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

The ETC control module (N15/3) is installed in the control module housing in the right of the engine compartment. See pic 1.

Here are the directions for removal and replacement. Picture 2 correlates with these directions.

Remove/install electronic transmission control (ETC) control module

Shown On Model 220
See Picture 2

Remove/Install

1 Connect quiescent current retention device

Danger:
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries.
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

2 Disconnect ground cable of battery

NOTE:
- Turn key in electronic ignition switch EIS into position "0". Key cannot be withdrawn.
- Vehicle fitted with code (889) Keyless-Go: Switch off engine, remove Keyless Go cards from the vehicle and keep outside the range of the transmitter.
- Installation: Read out fault memory after connecting, adjust time display on combination instrument, code radio, normalize power window and activate steering angle sensor.
Vehicles with stationary heater: adjust time display on stationary heater.
- Ensure that ground cable will not come into renewed contact with the battery terminal as you are working.

3 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position
4 Release and remove cover on right fuse box (F1/1)
5 Disconnect couplings (1) at ETC control module (N15/3)

NOTE: Press wiring harnesses that are covering the control module to the side

6 Remove ETC control module (N15/3) upwards out of right fuse box
7 Install in the reverse order
8 Render electrical system operational

NOTE: Perform basic programming (normalize windows and sliding roof, etc.).

Thanks Joe for the super quick response. You are a true hero! I didn't think the module would fit that snug on the side of the housing box. I will take a look tomorrow in the daylight. Thanks again! I will update what I find hopefully tomorrow.
