After replacing the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay and checking all the fuses my Subaru Loyale wagon fuel system still will not operate. My father thinks that the bump switch on the fuel pump may need to be reset. Can you help me with this problem?

You don't have a fuel shutdown relay like ford products. When you turn key to On -do you hear the fuel pump come on for a few secs.-If not check the blue wire at the fuel pump connector-

Also the injectors might not be energizing -

Try this spray carb cleaner into the throttle body and see what happens-did it fired up and then stall out.

At the fuse block under the instrument panel check the fuel pump fuse no.20 15amp.

Do you hear the fuel pump come On for a few secs-if so check the fuel pressure-if not look for power at the fuel pump connector blue and white wire.

All the fuses are good. I do not know what the fuel pump sounds like when it is on but we disconnected the fuel line from the fuel filter and no fuel comes from the fuel line. What does the fuel pump sound like when it is on?

Open the gas cap and listen to a buzzing noise-you don't hear it -might want to investigate and report back your findings.

The fuel pump itself is a replacement. How do we test the power at the fuel pump connector?
