Hi Im Lauren from CO, my subaru is on the side of the road and I need some help! I was driving at night when I noticed my interior dash lights fading then 5-10 minutes later I noticed my headlights diming I tried to change to low beams and my car surged and lurched and I give gas to rev it up but she slowing is losing power and can not continue, she's chugging along not getting enought power. I pulled over and jumped it, it went a bit farther then dies again. I have had the alternator and battery out and tested, both past, after three tests each, they past all fine. What else should I check or replace? Is there some voltage regulator? Some other part to check or replace? Some other diagnostic place to check? Onetime when I was on jumper cables and trying to start it, it was just clicking like the starter couldn't get juice or something? Like a connection was bad or something? I cleaned the corroded battery terminal and it ran for like 50 miles then out of no where everything starts losing power and i'm hitchhiking so please help! I'm a woman with not much automotive knowledge, but some and i'm super low on funds so any help will be so very greatly appreciated. Thnak you so muc for you time in advance!

You say that you had the altinator checked. What you describe to me is that it is not charging. If you are driving the altinator will charge the battery. With the lights going dim while you drive it sounds like the altinator is grounding out the voltage. Check the altinator with all theaccessories on[ Heat on high, the lights on, anthing electrical then check it.
