Hi,

For a couple of weeks now my vehicle has been jerky while stationary. If I drive faster, the car drives normally. Acceleration is okay. Over 1,800 rpm's it sounds good. I had the problem a year ago when it was an ignition coil. Can this happen to the 911 more often? Or can it be something else? Maybe someone knows this problem.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Hendrik Birke

Hi,

It could be a number of things on this vehicle. First, if it is related to an ignition coil, then it will produce a misfire. If that is the case, the check engine light should be on when the engine is running or even flashing when it happens. Is that the case? As far as coils, no, this isn't any different from another vehicle.

Let me know.
Joe

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the check engine light goes on. But sometimes, if I drive faster it goes out and the engine runs smoother. After a while, it lights up again and stuttering again.

That is likely a misfire then. Have the computer scanned to see what code is present. It may have another failed coil. Let me know what code is found.

Here is a quick video showing what needs done:

Most auto parts stores will do it free of charge.

Let me know the results.
