Bought new spark plugs and my gaping is suppose to be.035, but when I go to adjust the gap its already.04. So my question is, how do I adjust the gap on my spark plug to make it smaller or will the bigger gap affect the way my engine runs?

They have spark plug gaping tools that have a small channel on them for bending the gap smaller or making it bigger. You use it to bend the gap right where it comes off the end of the spark end where the threads end.

A larger gap will overtax ignition system and decrease plug life and usually just will not fire.

I would set it at the correct gap as the plug wears the gap will increase anyways.
