The check engine light is on and it was suggested that I check the spark plug for that cylinder and the gap.

Did they give you a code or cylinder number? CEL can be on for any number of reasons. Please provide a bit more information.

Hi Steve, well as fate may have it the CEL has gone off since this afternoon! However it wants to jump at stop lights and then die, restarts and then it dies when put in gear. Today it did not do that, but it does have a bit of jump. It does not misfire while I am driving, they say it has a misfire in cylinder number one and lists several probable causes: Vacuum line, injector fault, high or low fuel pressure, ignition wires, plugs, coil etc.
That tell you anything?

Barry

The code will still be set in the PCM, get a scan done and report the codes set for further assistance.
