I have the car listed above, it won't crank and the security light is on and it stays on. It does not blink and I have tried disconnecting the negative battery wire and a few other ways I have seen on the internet with no luck. They all say that the security light should blink but mine does not, it stays on the whole time. Is if I replace the key and the key tumbler will that fix it and will it start again? I don't know what else to do, it's our only car and don't have the money to get a new car. Please if there is any way to bypass it or anything? I would be forever grateful thank you and hope to hear back soon.. Fingers crossed. Shawn fox.

Hi Shawn,

If you replace the lock cylinder and key, it will need to be programmed to recognize the new key. Here is what I want you to try.

Turn the key to the run position so that the light is on. Allow it to stay on for approximately ten minutes. After that amount of time, the light should turn off and the vehicle should start.

Try this and let me know if it works. Also, take a look at this link and see if anything helps:

Let me know.
