I was driving home the other night when my security light came on next the service light came on, next my electric door locks started locking and unlocking themselves. While that was going on all my gauges went to zero this only lasted for about 30 seconds however when it all stopped the security and service light were still on and my odometer had reset itself about 40K miles less than what is really on my car. The odometer also did not work for the rest of the ride home - about 30 mins. I didn't drive it all weekend. This morning it started right up and there were no indicator lights on. I dropped it off at the mechanic and he scanned it - nothing showed up. However he took it for a test drive and all the gauges again went to zero and this time all the indicator lights came on. But still nothing showed up as wrong! He was going to do some more research and I drove it home - without the gauges. HELP! It feels very tight driving it now too -to turn you really have to pull the wheel.

First of all thank you so much for your donation. If your mile's reset by 40,000 mile's then that's your body control module it store's mile's to display on your cluster. It also control's your door lock's security gauge inside light's all that stuff. When ever I have seen mileage change like that on a saturn it has been a bad body control module.I have seen the lock's cycle like that from a bad one.I would think in the engine computer you would be setting a U2105 code meaning there was a communication error between the engine computer and the body control module.I know you said they didn't find any code's but why don't we try this go to a auto part's store like auto zone and see if you have any code's if you do then bring me the number's. It sound's like a bad body control module to me though all the sign's are there.

Thanks so much. That's exactly what was wrong with it. Too bad they had to reset my odometer - lol!

Took it to a chevy dealer and they fixed it right up!

Like brand new again !
