2002 Saturn SL2 crossed jumper cables

I left my lights on overnight so i had to jump my car. i hooked the jumper cables up backwards on the dead battery in the saturn. i replaced the battery and now ive found there is no spark coming from the spark plugs, on top of that the gas gauge reads empty and i dont hear the fuel pump kicking on when i turn the key, (yes the car has gas in it). i checked every fuse i could find under dash and under hood they all look fine.
p.s. when i turn the key it cranks, all dash lights come on but wont turn over. please help
