Removal & Installation ("S" Series)
Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove instrument panel upper trim panel retaining screws on passenger's side of vehicle, above glove box. Carefully lift front edge of instrument panel upper trim panel. Carefully disengage rear fasteners by reaching under trim panel and lifting straight up. See Fig. 3 .
Open driver's door. Remove lower steering column cover. Remove driver's side instrument panel end cap/vent assembly retaining screws and remove end cap/vent assembly. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Disengage instrument panel bezel clips from retainer assembly by grasping edges of instrument panel bezel near clip locations and pulling outward. See Fig. 4 . Disconnect dimmer/traction control switch harness connector and remove instrument panel bezel.
Remove instrument cluster retaining screws. Pull instrument cluster out, disconnect harness connector and remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.
