Transmission problem
1998 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140k miles

1998 Saturn SL2, My transmission has been shifting in higher then usual RPMS with a jerk when finally shifting. The service light comes on every know and then along wiht this problem. However when I had it read they said it was reading 2&4 gear lost? But when the problem is going on the transmission will still shift through all gear just at a higher RPM and with a Jerk? Can't figure this one out? Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I can shut the engine down and let sit a min and it will act normal until the next time this occurs.

Sounds like u have a internal pressure problem in ur transmission. As far as ur p0702 and p0704 it doesnt mean the gears arent there it justs means the computer has read a slip in those gears. Theres no easy solution to ur problem on this one.U need to have the pressure tested on ur transmission the actuators tested the clutchs air checked to make sure the gear pistons are holding.U may even have a loose input shaft nut pretty common for the later model s model saturns. Another words u need ur car checked out by someone that knows saturns. Let me know how it goes.
