Ok I was having problems starting my car. It wouldn't turn over, and my dad had said that he believed it needed a new fuel filter. It would turn over sometimes after the 4th try, and if it got to that point I would press on the gas petal when starting it, and it seemed to help. Now I just got in my car and tryed to turn it over. There was no noise, I believe that twice there was a click noise. The lights, radio, and headlights all came on. I'm not sure what it is, and I'm going to have to take it to a shop, but I don't want to get screwed. Please help!

Sounds like u have a couple of problems u said at first it would turn over but had trouble starting now u say it won't turn over at all.just because ur lights work doesn't mean u have a good battery.make sure ur battery cables are clean and tight.do u have a multimeter?u could have a bad battery or starter without doing some testing we won't know that's why I asked if u have a multimeter.u could also have a bad coolant temp sensor and possbily ur connector as well.causing ur crank no start but the 1997 Saturns are known for there fuel pumps bleeding causing extending cranking when starting.let me know.
