i was heading to work the other day and my gear shifter went out on my i lost 2, 4, and reverse in my car. what could this be? it still shifts into 1, 3, and 5 but thats it if i try to shift into the others its like the gear isnt there

First of all thank you so much for your donation.The first thing i want you to do is go under the hood and look at where the shift cable's attach to the transmission and see if one of the cable's came off.Then i want you to pop out the cup holder by your a/c control's and look under the console and see if one the shift cable's came off the shifter.Let me know what you find.
