My engine is running hot in city driving. Coolant level is good and clean. What would cause this or is this normal for this car? Let me know thanks

The normal operating range on the temp gauge is usually 1/2 to 3/4 where is urs running?

Does the engine cooling fan come at 3/4 and then start to drop below 3/4?
