1997 Saturn SL1 Windshield Wipers Will Not Turn Off

If I put the windshield wipers on, they will not turn off until I turn the car off, which seems to "reset a circuit" and the wipers will then remain off until turned back on, then they will remain on until the vehicle is turned off again.

Ok if u have a multimeter u will need it to do this go to the wiper motor connector on termial c at the motor connector its a purple wire with ur wiper switch off there should be no ground there. Also at ur wiper motor connector terminal d brown wire there shouldnt be a ground with the switch off ethier. Let me know what u find.
