Engine Performance problem
1997 Saturn SL1 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
Having the same problem which was listed under 1997 Saturn.
Service Engine Soon message - Changed plugs,wires,air filter and PVC valve. disconnected battery - reconnected battery. Started engine - Service Engine Soon message out. When starting vehice rpm goes to 2000 - then drops to 1000 - place in gear and engine goes to 1500 and stays there - have to hold brake securely when coming to a stop still in gear - engine slowly drops to 900 rpm -then when leaving stop and applying slight pressure on excelerator - engine goes to 1500 again - then will eventully drop to 1000. The engine rpm working correctly before I changed the parts. Plugs were gapped at .040
