Hi I am currently in roled at ATI and I have already ask about this question to someone else there but I want to get some outside advice. My transmission in my 2001 saturn sl1 shifts hard going into second and sometimes third. It shifts harder the less I accelerate. If I floor the peddal it seems not to do it so much. I gave it a transmission flush about 3 months ago to see if it would fix the problem but it seemed to get worse. I have only owned it 6 months. It also makes a noise when I put it from park to drive and reverse. I was told it might be the trans. Pump. I dont know alot about trans. I havent taken that class yet and I want to learn. Should I just let the car go? Is it worth the fix? I know about all the problems saturn had the first 10 years. But if its worth it I will just fix the problem. I have already put money in to it for parts and replaced alot.

Have you scanned it for codes? It sounds like a bad shift solenoid is all thats wrong. A transmission fault code will not set the check engine light all the time so scan the computer and get back to us with the codes and we can go from there, I bet its going to be a faulty solenoid.

Did you use a mini code reader or was it a professional scanner? Sometimes a code reader wont give you access to trans codes.
