Hi I had my emission test pass and a tune-up last year on my saturn sc2 2002 only 53,000 miles. It's been idling really rough when in drive and vibrating the car a little.Could it be a exhaust problem?I don't really have that much money to put in it I put 700.00 into the car last year and now this too.Thank you clarence."

first of all thank u very much for ur donation it really helps to keep this site going and answering everyones questions. Are sure it's not just vibrating instead of running rough?does the rpms bounce around when this happens?does this happen in park too?also u need to have ur engine codes scanned that will really help if it's a missifire and not just a vibration.let me know what u find.

You are very welcome and thank you for having this site. Its a strong humming sound when it is in park and when I put it in drive the humming gets so strong its makes almost a vibrating sound it makes dashboard vibrate closer towards the passenger side of the dashboard by the windshield by heater and air conditioner vent in my car,and also my inside of car rattles also a little. When I go though the vibration slows down alot, but can stiil hear it a little and can hear it alot more when I step on the gas pedal until I stop and then it starts real strong again. My rpms do not move back and forth at all it stays at 1000 rpms if that is normal or not I don't know.Thank you Clarence

Sounds like u have a vibration then the two most common mounts to colaspe is the upper engine mount by ur valve cover and ur lower transmission mount with the low mileage u have I would say it's just ur upper mount there's two styles of mounts.look at ur mount from the side looking from ur passenger side fender down the engine lenth wise looking at the rubber.see if it looks like ur mount is frowning at u.let me know what u find if u could post a pic of the rubber of the mount or email me a pic I could tell u alot more.
