Changed battery beginning of Oct and have driven about 800 miles, needed inspection, so on Oct 30 did not pass codes catalyst & secondary air not ready. Have done the NYS generic reset, which is a challenge and still did not pass. Any suggestions

There were no codes just OBD monitor readiness status
Catalyst not ready
secondary air system not ready. I will try to see if there are any codes but probably won't get back to you till later.
Thanks
Kathy

To reset those monitor's I would try driving the car over 50 mile's without turning the key off in town and on the freeway. If you can find a part's store with a more advanced scanner they can tell you if the monitor's reset.

My 1998 has the same two "not ready" codes (plus a third Evaporitive System not ready) which is causing it to fail inspection. It would pass with two codes, but not three.
I drive only about 5-8 miles a day in town. How can I reset these so it will pass?
