gets hot, won't start, must wait 20 minutes or more to want to restart

When it get's hot and won't start does it crank no start or no crank no start?Also do you have any codes or a multimeter?

Louie, Don't have any codes, Does not want to crank untill it sits awhile, after that it cranks and run good till you shut it off again, then same thing. help

Sounds like a bad starter but without tracing power when it doesn't start we won't know for sure.So do you have a test light or multimeter to trace power?
