Daughter drove the Saturn for about 15 miles in 3rd gear, because it wouldn't go in any other. In morning, filled radiator (had completely overheated and was empty), checked transmission fluid, which was clean and full. Car starts no problem, but won't move. Doesn't feel like fighting brakes (though brake light is on), more like clutch not engaging. Do you think she fried the transmission, or just the clutch? Need car to make it until September!

If the transmission isn't making any noise when in neutral, I'd say she toasted the clutch.

No, it sounds just fine, like it should work. Goes into gear, but nothing happens. What will be a ballpark figure on repairing this?

To R & R clutch disc, pressure plate, through out bearing and have the flywheel machined, your probably looking at $400 to 600.
