The problem is this, whenever I put the car into park or if I start it the cars rpms will shoot up to close to 3 thousand rpms and then slowly fall back down. Also whenever I slow down, the rpms jump up a little bit and then drop back down so the car jumps a little. It almost feels like I shifted wrong, but its a automatic. Whats wrong with my car? Is is major?

Hey jilfae,

Sounds like a coolant temp sensor. You might be on the second one going bad with that sort of mileage. Here is a link from a prior post that discusses it in detail. Check it out.

Good luck and let us know. :)
