From the top. I haven't driven my car since November 28, 2006. I got my license back so I started to drive it again. First thing first, I got a new batter since I knew it was dead. Car ran perfectly fine for the first day, the second day, and even started up fine this morning. Try starting it up now and I get nothing. Not a click or anything. And since I bought a battery two days ago and it was driving perfectly fine earlier, I don't believe it to be the battery. And I can still get the lights, etc. On.

Now here's the weird thing. Me and a buddy were trying to see if we could get it started and we were having no luck, but once he slammed the hood shut, my car was able to start. After turning it off, it wouldn't start again. He slammed the hood again and I was able to get it to start. After that the hood slamming technique didn't work for another hour and then it worked again. At first I thought it may be a bad starter, but I'm able to get it started sometimes. Maybe somethings loose in the electrical? I don't know but all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Start checking the wiring harness upfront there's a loose connection somewhere inspect thoroughly- wire to wire. Also the fuse box take all of them out and reset it back in.

Okay, I've taken all of the fuses out and reset them back in and that didn't fix the problem. Would the wiring harness be behind my stereo or glovebox? Sorry, not quite sure where its at.

Thanks for the response

Try tapping the starter motor, you might just have a bad starter motor and slamming the hood jarred the starter enough to get it to start.
