I am using a friends tools I need to know what are the 'exterior' and 'interior '(the one's near the injector cords) bolt sizes. And if there is a particular brand /style of gasket to use and if any 'prep' product shound be put down between the new gasket and the valve cover engine 'rim'?

Not sure of the size. It'll just be hit or miss. It also depends on whether you have a single over head cam (SOHC) or dual over head cam (DOHC).

On a SOHC, you remove the two valve cover bolts (torx). On DOHC, there are 11 torx bolts that need to be removed.

Any decent quality gasket should suffice (like from a reputable auto parts store). Make sure the new gasket fits properly in its groove and you can use a bit of RTV sealant where the front cover contacts the cylinder head.

When reinstalling, make sure you tighten the valve cover bolts in the proper sequence (not much of a problem w/ a SOHC but on the DOHC, there is a definite tightening sequence). A reputable repair manual can be very valuable in these sortS of instances. Good luck!
