First, the alternator went out, replaced and it started and ran. 2 hours later the car would not start. The bendix is kicking in, but the starter will not spin. A coincidence? so I bought a new starter. Same thing, then had the alternator I just installed bench tested to find it was bad. Re-installed, same problem, bendix engages, starter will not spin. New starter will work when direct connected to battery when out of the engine. Clutch switch is working. The car runs fine when it is push started.

What else?

Sounds more that you need to do a voltage drop test on all the cables positive and negative. and report to me.

Do you always here the starter kick in when you turn the key to start position?
