1993 Other Saturn Models When i press the breaks the car die

1993 Other Saturn Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140k miles

I unplugged the wire harness to the break switch.Then I can press the brakes and it will not die,but then i will have no break lights.Then if i plug it back up it will die.
