Three times in the last week my car has not started just after I stopped it and turned it off. As soon as I kill the engine, the dome light and power locks stop working. When I try to start it, the engine cranks but doesn't turn over. I cannot put the vehicle in neutral. The headlights and windows do work however.

To start it again, I need to unhook the battery and rehook. Then all systems work again and the car starts right up. I am starting to suspect the Passlock system but I couldn't tell you why, I just do. I just replaced the battery and the test showed that the starter and other elements are working fine.

I've towed it to a repair shop and of course it started working again and they couldn't see any codes from the computer. It's becomming a big headache. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad body control module typicial things happen when they go bad are power door locks inop key fob inop gas gauge reads empty dome light inop flashs car won't come out of park crank but no start.they way I tested if they were bad was when they were acting up I plug in a tester body control module I have replaced so many of them I have just about every yr one 4 and 6cyl that's how many I have replaced.that's the best advice I can give but the body control module has to be the same yr and out of a 6cyl since that's what u have and when u plug it in it still won't start unless u learn the passlock but the locks will work and the car will come out of gear and the dome lamp will work.good luck let me know how it goes.
