2001 Saturn L300 car starts when it wonts to and shuts off

i have just spent over 800.00 on getting a fuel pump and fuel filter replaced...and the car will only start when it wonts too...after being off for some time...and then when it starts you can only get about 3 to 4 miles down the road before it shuts off agian...
