My Odometer stopped working after the head on collision and my friend fixed it for me at his body shop. He checked all electrical and diagnosed with special hand held device and told me everything looks fine. But odometer doesn't register my trip. Speedometer, transmission works fine. Since then, I've been driving and at least more than 1000 miles on it. Is there any help to fix this odometer working again? The odometer register is a digital, if it is fixed, would it register all miles that I have driven so far? Thank you so much for your answers.

So your speedometer work's it just doesn't add more mileage to your total mileage driven?Think of the digital display as a monitor it only display's what the body control module sends to it to display the body control module store's the total mileage and sends it to digital display. Also do you have any problem's with power door lock's key less entry gas gauge temp gauge crank no start's inside light's etc?

Thank you for your response to my question. Only the odometer doesn't work. It doesn't add the total miles I've driven. Speedometer works just fine, it tells me how much speed I drive and RPM works fine. I do not have keyless (remote control) key. Only has a key and I turn it twice to open all other doors. I think eveything else seems normal, except the Odometer. Is it because of the electrical problem or is it something can be fixed by changing sensor or something. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I emailed you the trouble tree for odometer inop it lead's you to a bad cluster but I think you could have a bad bcm possibly because that is what sends the mileage to the lcd display. But follow the trouble tree and see where it leads you.

Thank you. I printed out the instructions that you sent via email. Can you please let me know what "bcm" stand for? You think I could have a bad bcm possibly. I don't know what bcm is

A bcm is a body control module it controls your security key less entry inside light's fuel gauge your shifter solenoid that make's you have to step on the brake to put the car in gear. Also store's your total mileage driven and display's it on your speedometer LCD display. The trouble tree I sent you I think is only talking about if your odometer doesn't display anything. Because if it displayed the mileage and doesn't advance I don't see why replacing the cluster would fix that. Since the bcm store's the mileage and sends the correct mileage to the LCD display.

How can I fix the odometer that doesn't advance or register the miles I've been driving? It has 18800 mileage before the head collision accident, ever since the accident, it doesn't register the mileage. Is there any way to fix it? I was thinking to buy another odometer to replace it, then though what if there is something else broken? Please help!

Thanks!
